Personal Message from Carole

Dear Friends,
Last Friday, one of my cherished companions passed into spirit. Abby aka Lincus, a silver-dappled mini-dachshund, gave me the privilege of her love and presence for12 ½ years. Over the last several days (in-between crying jags), I’ve considered what divine attributes this little dog reflected to me. Three things came to me: patience (she had many urinary problems near the end of her life that required constant clean-up); individuality (Abby sported a curled lip and crooked snout resulting from a fight with another dog when she was a pup) and presence (how can I possibly describe that?)  In grieving her physical transition, I am again reminded that we do not “own” anything in life- we simply experience and hopefully appreciate it.
If you want to discover or expand your intuitive abilities, I invite you to attend my Intuitive Development workshop on March 27-28. We will be working  in a small group setting and you will receive caring, individual attention and encouragement for your journey. Interested? Read below for more information.
Just in time for flu season: author Joe Turiano’s article advises us to consider the spiritual role that illness plays in our lives, helping us to cleanse ourselves of the limitations of our ego.
Thanks to all who wished me well with the debut of my new radio show, Soulvisions on Blogtalk radio. For easy access in tuning in on Mondays nights at 9p.m. EST, copy and paste http://www.blogtalkradio.com/mcssradio into your browser.

Question of the Month
Where is the spirit world located?

It is right here in this time and space, but vibrating at a different, higher frequency than our bodies and the rest of the earth. The physical world is relatively dense in comparison to the spirit realms. That is, the molecules of physical substance- which are actually energy in motion- are moving more slowly than the ones in the spirit world. Our minds and spirits already exist in those realms and exist simultaneously on many planes. Therefore, we are always connected to the spirit world, even if we are not aware of it. In fact, there is no separation between there and here. It is our perception that determines the duality between the two.
When we meditate, we close the gap, so to speak, between the two worlds. We elevate our perception to connect with our innate spiritual presence. Dreams are another way we communicate with higher (than earthly) consciousness. Dream visitation is one of the most common ways loved ones in spirit connect with us. It is easier for them to do so because our rational brains are sleeping and we are naturally open to our intuitive connection to all of life.
Heaven or the spirit world is not a place, but a state of consciousness that is within you and around you. Daily meditation and intuitive development are tools to help us better tune into that reality.

Do you have a question about the Other Side or metaphysical spirituality? Please email it to carole@soulvisions.net. I cannot answer personally, but if it is something that will likely benefit others, I will address it in a future newsletter.

Monthly Inspiration
Illness and Spiritual Growth
By Joe Turiano

Life always presents us with ways to grow spiritually. For example, our body is a vehicle for learning. Few lives are lived without the challenge of illness, which can be a particularly demanding form of learning. The American psychic and seer Edgar Cayce (1876-1945) remarked that not only is bodily illness always a sign of imbalance and imperfection in the psyche, it often presents us with the lesson of patience- which helps us to recognize the contrast between our ego and our higher self.
Because the ego can be an obstacle to growth, enlightenment and the experience of unity with all things, the condition of illness can be an extremely valuable tool if we choose to view it correctly. Of course, it goes without saying that having the proper (enlightened) attitude toward illness is one of the most difficult things in the world. British writer Aldous Huxley (1896-1963) had similar insights to Cayce’s on illness. He wrote that maintaining a state of health aids us in the mystical quest to know liberation, oneness, and light. When we are beset by illness, he noted, it is much more difficult to perceive these truths. And yet- in one of the best and most moving descriptions of an enlightened, liberated, saintly figure in his novel Time Must Have a Stop,-the final and most inspiring scenes describe this character becoming fully enlightened while dying of cancer. Because he knows he is dying after developing absolute trust in God over the course of his lifetime, he embraces the process of death and releases all fear and sense of separation from his mind. This is the final lesson and growth experience of his life- the way by which he is able to finally set aside all vestiges of ego and became completely one with the Source, even as his body ceases to be.
The ego has a natural fear of sickness, a fear that can be enhanced by the knowledge that illness reminds us of our own human imperfection. But illness visits nearly everyone and always has a purpose. Like so many things in life, the ultimate value and meaning of illness lies in how we look at it.  For example, we can think of a cold or the flu as sources of suffering and misery, but they can also be viewed as the means by which the body cleanses itself of germs. In the same way, illness can be viewed and embraced as an experience that can cleanse consciousness, something that can raise the mind to a fearless perception of oneness and eternity.

I came to Carole with an open but objective mind, and I left with no doubts about her abilities. I revealed nothing about myself to her, yet all of the information that came through in her reading proved to be absolutely accurate. This includes facts I didn't personally know at the time of the reading, but I was able to confirm later when I checked with my relatives. This also includes information pertaining to an event that actually took place several weeks after the reading! "Wow-factor" aside, the most important thing I took with me from my reading was a great sense of healing, affirmation, and closure. If there is anyone out there who feels they would benefit from work with a medium, but is scared to try because they don't know who is legitimate and who isn't, I can only promise you that Carole is the "real deal".
